Background
Why death?
I wanted to make a story about the idea and concept about death for children as I feel like it is not a topic that is commonly touched on by parents and caregivers. It is important to introduce the concept of death so that children will not be confused or shunned away when probing the topic.
Personally, I lost my very close cousin when I was quite young and didn’t know what was going on or what happened. I didn’t have the support I needed and for me, I think it is important that parents know that even when young, children need to understand what death is about and what will change in their lives.

The Story
I knew that I wanted to make a story that hits close to home and decided to make it about a little boy who has to endure the confusion and pain of losing his grandmother. As Muslims, we have a very strong belief of the afterlife and I wanted to portray that in this short e-book.
The characters include
- Adam, a curious and thoughtful 10 year old boy.
- Mama and Papa, Adam's parents.
- Grandma, Adam's recently passed grandmother.
As for the colour scheme and overall look of the book, I wanted it to have that colourful and soft colours to portray the innocent and creative mind of a child.
